Eto'o eyes Anfield move
Samuel Eto'o
Eto'o wants to partner Michael Owen
Real Mallorca striker Samuel Eto'o has revealed he wants to make a move to the Premiership to join Liverpool.

The 22-year old Cameroon international had been linked with Manchester United after scoring 15 goals in La Liga last season and impressing in the Confederations Cup.

But now Eto'o has set his sights on joining Gerard Houllier's side and teaming up with England hitman Michael Owen.

"I'm convinced Michael Owen and I would form a partnership which would leave defenders with their tongues hanging out," Eto'o told the Daily Mirror newspaper.

"I would drive the fans crazy with my goals and passes. I'm capable of playing in any team in the world and I've showed that at Mallorca and for Cameroon," he added.

Eto'o could be lined up by Houllier as a replacement for Emile Heskey, with the Frenchman said to be open to offers for the misfiring former Leicester City player.

Heskey has fallen down the pecking order both at club and country level and the arrival of Eto'o would further limit his first-team opportunities.
