Mozambican football in mourning
Wane Pone were returning from a game in Nampula
Mozambican football is in mourning after 12 players and officials died in a car crash.

Wane Pone Football club were returning home late on Tuesday after losing 2-0 away to Ferroviario de Nampula, when their minibus collided with a truck.

"Some 10 people died on the spot, and two others in hospital," a police spokesman told the news agency Reuters.

"The death toll is expected to rise," he added.

Ten other players and officials are in serious condition in local hospitals.

Wane Pone, from the southern Inhambane province, are in their first season in Mozambique's national division one.

It is not known how many of the dead are players, and how many are officials.

Wane Pone does not have any international players.
