Mido's season has been dogged by disputes |
Egypt's troubled striker Ahmed 'Mido' Hossam says he will be leaving Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam by the end of the year.
In an interview on Egyptian TV the 20-year-old star confirmed rumours that he wanted to go to Barcelona.
"This is my last year at the Amsterdam Arena," he said.
"I have received a lot of offers from European top flights and I might be in Barcelona's Nou Camp next year."
I did not apologise to anyone. If I apologise, it means I did something wrong and I did not |
Mido, who is on a week's holiday in Egypt, was demoted to Ajax's reserve team for a second time this season after another dispute with coaching staff. They were unhappy with comments he made to the Dutch press after a match against Arsenal in the Uefa Champions League.
Mido denied the claims of coach Ronald Koeman that he had apologised to Ajax staff and players for his earlier behaviour.
"I did not apologise to anyone," he said. "If I apologise, it means I did something wrong and I did not."
It has become increasingly clear that relations between the young striker and his coach have hit rock-bottom and are unlikely to improve.
Mido has played 57 matches for Ajax, scoring 23 goals in the process.
This season he has scored 9 times in 16 games, making him the club's leading marksman.
