Ziese promised to rejuvenate the Black Stars |
Burkhard Ziese has officially been confirmed as coach of the Ghanaian national team.
It will be the second spell for the 59-year-old German coach in Ghana - 12 years after his last departure.
Ziese was presented to the media in a marathon conference on Tuesday during which the Ghana FA boss Ben Koufie said he has a one-year renewable contract to manage the four-time African champions.
Surprisingly, it was revealed that Ziese turned down a substantial signing-on fee and will receive a modest salary.

High on Ziese's agenda is to recall the foreign-based players thrown out of the squad two years ago, including former captain Charles Akunnor, Samuel Johnson and Bayern Munich defender Sammy Kuffour.
Ziese said he is still talking with Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Alex Nyarko to return to the Black Stars.
Nyarko recently declared his intention to quit the game altogether.
"I've spoken with some Ghanaian players in Europe that fans don't know of and I will produce the best squad for the Black Stars," Ziese said.
"All of them have responded positively, apart from Nyarko, who I am still hoping will change his mind.
"My aim is to work with a good mixture of players whether foreign or home-based."
Ziese also divulged an intensive preparation programme for the Nations Cup qualifiers.
There is a proposed friendly against Australia in London on 2 April and an invitational tournament in Tunisia later this month.
"I want the best for Ghana and we will play the best teams and market ourselves at the highest level," he said.
Ziese is the popular choice of Ghanaian football fans who fondly remember his previous stint with the Black Stars.
