The period has been designated as a weekend for international friendlies on the Fifa calendar. Mashaba has been criticised in recent months for excluding several European-based professionals from his team selections. Mashaba, who took over from Jomo Sono after the World Cup, ignored Mark Fish, Quinton Fortune, Steven Pienaar and Nasief Morris for the opening two qualifiers of the 2004 African Nations Cup campaign. But he is now expected to call them up, plus other players based in Europe. Details of the camp's precise location are still to be ironed out, said South African Football Association chief operating officer Albert Mokoena on Thursday. "Mashaba has his contacts there and will be talking them to set it up," Mokoena said. Mashaba took South Africa's Under-23 side to Germany when he managed the squad and has attended coaching courses there. | See also: 08 Jan 03 | Africa 07 Jan 03 | Man City 08 Jan 03 | West Ham Utd Top Africa stories now: Links to more Africa stories are at the foot of the page. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
