The Manchester Evening News claims City boss Kevin Keegan has turned his attention to Celta Vigo's McCarthy after baulking at Fowler's reported 50,000 per week pay demands. McCarthy's agent Rob Moore insists no move has yet been made for his player, but hinted that McCarthy would jump at the chance to join City. "I haven't heard from them but at the end of the day if a club like City was interested then that would be a good move for Benni," Moore told BBC Sport Online. "Their style of football is suited to his game and they play great attacking football.
"But we can't really act on anything until we have heard something from City." McCarthy was close to a move to Middlesbrough last summer and was recently linked with a move to Charlton. |
