Cameroon's stamp of success
The 250F stamp
President Biya has been criticised for being so high-profile

Cameroon national postal services corporation is to celebrate 20 years of the country's success in world football on a series of stamps.

The twenty years, 1982-2002, coincide with the twenty years in power of Cameroon's president Paul Biya.

The first stamp, whose size is 40x30mm, has a face value of FCFA 250.

It carries the newly-retained African Nations Cup trophy won at Mali 2002, the face of a lion and a photo of President Biya.

According to its launching message, this stamp celebrates two lucky decades for Cameroonian sports and football in particular, crowned with the Olympic glory in addition to its four titles of African Champions.

The second, a round postage stamp, bears a label of the Lions, a football, Cameroon's national trio-colour flag, alongside the flags of Spain, Italy, USA, France, South Korea and Japan.

The stamp is 38mm in diameter and has a face value of FCFA 125.

It is the first time in Cameroon that a round postage stamp has been launched.
