Africans top German reject lists
Victor Ikpeba
Ikpeba has been told he is no longer needed at Dortmund
African players feature prominently on the list of unwanted footballers issued by German Bundesliga clubs this week.

The most high-profile names are those of Nigerian internationals Sunday Oliseh and Victor Ikpeba, together with the Egyptian veteran Hani Ramzy.

  Unwanted
Bayer Leverkusen: Pascal Karibe Ojigwe (Nigeria)
Borussia Dortmund: Victor Ikpeba, Sunday Oliseh (both Nigeria)
Energie Cottbus: Hamid Termina (Morocco)
Hansa Rostock: Bachirou Salou (Togo)
Hertha Berlin: Joel Tchami (Cameroon)
Kaiserslautern: Hani Ramzy (Egypt)
VfB Stuttgart: Bradley Carnell (South Africa)
VfL Wolfsburg: Emeka Ifejiagwa (Nigeria)
All have been told they are free to leave their clubs because their respective coaches see no role for them this upcoming campaign.

Oliseh, left out of the World Cup by his country, has been the subject of much transfer speculation in recent weeks but his proposed move to Real Betis in Spain has not come off because Dortmund's valuation was too high.

Ikpeba has just returned to Dortmund after a loan spell at the same club but was asked not to travel to Borussia' s pre-season training camp in Austria.

Coach Matthias Sammer says he is not needed.

The German magazine 'Kicker' says Kaiserslautern coach Andreas Brehme is also undecided over the future of the 33-year-old Ramzy, who was sacked by the club last season but then reinstated after a night club incident with a woman.

Ramzy has been linked with a move to Bologna in Italy where his wife hails from but this has also not advanced past the speculation stage.

Togo's bustling striker Bachirou Salou, 31, has been told he has no future at Hansa Rostock even though his contract still has a year to run.

Also transfer listed is Bradley Carnell of VfB Stuttgart, despite playing three matches at the World Cup finals, and Joel Tchami, whose elder brother Alphonse played for Cameroon at the World Cup in the USA in 1994.

All of the players are still under contract but would be allowed to move if the right offer came along, the magazine said.
