Buckland Athletic have announced that first-team manager Steve Massey has been sacked.

Massey, who took over at the Peninsula Premier League champions in the summer, has seen the side slip to four defeats in their last seven games.

A statement on the club's official website said: "The decision has been made over concerns as to the future direction of the club.

"We thank Steve very much for his efforts and wish him all the best."

Antony Lynch has been given the role of caretaker manager, whilst the committee decide on the future of the club.
