The Football Association says it is looking into incidents of crowd disturbance and pitch invasions at two weekend matches.

Hull's Premier League match at home to Liverpool saw hundreds of fans rush on to the field at the final whistle.

A number surrounded Reds captain Steven Gerrard, who was seen to angrily push one away, while there were also minor skirmishes between the rival fans.

There was also a pitch invasion at the end of Burton's win over Grimsby.

The 3-0 victory relegated the Mariners to the Blue Square Premier.

The FA is in the process of studying reports from officials and match delegates at both games and will also request information from the clubs involved before deciding on their next course of action.

Crowd problems have marred the final week of the football season.

Riot police were forced to separate fans at Hillsborough last Sunday when a 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace relegated Sheffield Wednesday to League One.

And there were violent clashes at Kenilworth Road after York's 1-0 win over Luton in the Blue Square Premier play-off semi-final.
