Ayre United seal Premier League return at first attempt

Ayre United defeated struggling Douglas and District 6-4 at Springfield Road on Wednesday to guarantee their immediate Premier League return.

The game was tied 1-1 at half-time but their was no shortage of goals in the second-half.

Colby's 3-1 victory at Marown made it mathematically impossible for the Crosby side to overtake Ayre.

Douglas Royal remain favourites for the Division Two title after a 3-1 win against Police at Nobles Park.

Meanwhile, Malew drew 1-1 with Foxdale and Ronaldsway defeated Onchan 1-0.

Elsewhere, Ramsey and Douglas High School Old Boys played out a 0-0 draw at Ballacloan in the Premier League.

On Tuesday evening St Mary's defeated Union Mills 7-0 to move above Peel into third.
