Kent football results and summary

Non League

Kent interest in the FA Trophy came to an end on Saturday with defeats at Blue Square Premier opposition for Dover and Maidstone.

Despite going ahead Dover lost 4-1 at holders Stevenage, while Maidstone lost 2-0 to Salisbury City.

Dover scorer Shaun Welford told BBC Radio Kent: "When we were 1-0 up I thought we had the better of them.

"We showed glimpses of what we were capable of and it could have been a different story."

Maidstone never recovered from conceding a goal in the first minute and had James Peacock sent off before half time.

Stones joint-manager Lloyd Hume said "I'm disappointed with the referee.

"He [Peacock] has gone in with a tackle. It was a rash challenge, but the referee's chosen to send him off.

"Then, one of their players grabs him and drags him 10 yards and hits him and it's not deemed violent conduct and it's only a yellow card.

"I don't feel we got the rub of the green from the referee today but I don't blame the referee for the result, Salisbury deserved to win.

"But, against a full-time side you need an extra man, not one man less."

Meanwhile, Welling United won 4-0 at Bishops Stortford in Blue Square South.

"We seem to be getting some results," said United boss Jamie Day.

"We started the second half brightly and we could have had a few more goals. It's very pleasing.

"The lads' confidence has come back and we are grinding out results. Let's hope we keep it going."

Sittingbourne put in an excellent second half display to win 6-1 at Kent neighbours Ramsgate in Ryman South.

Ramsgate went 1-0 up on before half time, with Sittingbourne scoring all of their goals after the break.

Despite having their games postponed Dartford and Folkestone have maintained their leads in their respective divisions.

Dartford are still 12 points clear at the top of Ryman Premier and Folkestone's lead in Ryman South is still nine points.

Faversham's lead at the top of the Kent League has been cut to seven points with Hythe's 3-1 win at Sporting Bengal.
