Maidstone United have beaten the weather to play their FA Trophy tie with Histon on Tuesday night.
The first round tie was due to be played on 12 December but has been postponed six times.
The Football Association told Maidstone this was their last chance to host the tie and that they would have sacrificed home advantage if it was called off.
Manager Lloyd Hume told BBC Radio Kent: "It's been a long wait. Let's hope it's worth the while."
Maidstone play their home games at Ashford's Homelands ground, which has barely hosted a game in the past two months.
"The club's worked hard and the groundsman at Ashford's worked hard," said Hume.
"It's important we got the game on or we would have had to travel to Histon under a directive of the FA. The game goes ahead much to our pleasure.
"It's definitely on at the moment. Who knows with the weather but the forecast looks kind so let's hope it stays that way."
The winners play Salisbury City in the second round, a tie that was due to be played a fortnight ago.
That could either be played on Saturday 23 January (or the following Tuesday night), with the third round tie scheduled for the following Saturday.
