St Peter stunned in Le Riche Cup

Jersey Football Combination

St Peter's 1-0 defeat by St John was the only upset in the first round of Jersey's Le Riche Cup on Saturday.

Joel Hayward's goal secured the Championship side's place in the next round at the expense of the second-placed team in the Premiership.

Cup holders Jersey Scottish found some form with a 2-1 win over Jersey Wanderers, Ali Santos and Paul Aitken grabbed the Scottish goals.

Meanwhile current league favourites St Paul's thrashed Magpies 12-0.

Craig Russell and Craig Leitch scored a hat-trick each while Mark Lucas scored four for the reining Premiership title holders.

First Tower United had an easy 3-0 win at home over Jersey Nomads, while the Portuguese Club defeated Grouville 2-1.

Trinity, who have struggled in the league this season, may have kick started their season with a strong 3-1 win over Rozel.

Sporting Accies had a 1-0 win over St Lawrence while St Ouen defeated St Brelade 4-1 in the western derby.
