King's Lynn manager Carl Heggs was pleased with his team despite a 3-1 defeat by a Leicester City XI in their first pre-season friendly at the Walks.
A goal from Matt Birley ensured Lynn led the Championship side 1-0 at half-time but two goals in two minutes turned the game Leicester's way.
"For the second time they've ever played together, they looked really organised," said Heggs.
"We just ran out of legs," added Heggs, appointed Linnets boss last month.
The game was also a chance for Heggs to assess two trialists - Andy Boyce and former Aston Villa youth player Phil Green - and he pronounced himself impressed.
"I'm looking to bring them both into the squad," he said.
"Andy is tall, has a wonderful physique and is a decent player. Phil spent three years as a pro at Aston Villa. He needs to get fit but the kid's got quality."
King's Lynn's next match is at home to Kettering Town on Saturday, 25 July.
