Nantwich reach Unibond play-offs

Nantwich Town are just two matches away from promotion to the Blue Square North after finishing in third position in the Unibond Premier League table.

A 3-1 win over Worksop on Saturday booked a home play-off semi-final against Guiseley on Tuesday.

Nantwich manager Steve Davis told BBC Radio Stoke: "It's been a long hard season, but we deserve the chance to get another shot at promotion.

"We've got a home game in the semi, so that should give us an advantage."

Guiseley, the top scorers in the division, won their last six matches of the regular season to secure their place in the play-offs.

They may have a psychological edge over Nantwich, having defeated the Dabbers 2-0 at the Weaver Stadium on 4 April.

The other Unibond Premier semi-final is between Ilkeston and Kendal, with the two winners meeting in the final on Saturday, 2 May.
