Douglas High School Old Boys defeated St Georges in a penalty shoot-out on Monday to lift the Isle of Man FA Cup at Ballacloan Stadium in Ramsey.

The sides were tied 1-1 after 90 minutes with Geordies' Callum Morrisey equalising a well-taken Robbie Ward free-kick for Old Boys.

The sides could not be separated in extra-time and Old Boys held their nerve to win 3-2 on penalties.

Old Boys stopper Sam Halliday was the penalty-saving hero.

Old Boys manager Colin Purvis said: "We started well but Geordies were excellent in the second half.

"I lost count of the penalties, so when the lads started celebrating it was such a relief."
