Magpies took advantage of the bad weather to open up a three-point gap in second place of Jersey football's Championship.

Matt Pamplin got the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win over second-from-bottom St Lawrence at the Airport.

They now have 18 points, three clear of First Tower United and four clear of St Clement and Jersey Nomads.

Leaders Portuguese Club are 12 points clear at the top after their 10th successive win - 5-0 over Beeches.

Jose-Manuel Vieira scored twice while Carlos Carolo, Richard Russell also scored along with an own goal.

The two Championship games played were out of only three that took place in the entire league on a weekend when 15 out of the 18 games were postponed.
