Guernsey retained the Ambassadeur Bowl in dramatic style at Springfield
Guernsey Under-21 manager Martyn De Garis has hailed the attitude of his players after their dramatic comeback to beat Jersey on Saturday.
The Sarnians were 2-0 down with 10 minutes to go but clawed it back to 2-2 before going on to win 3-2 in the last minute of extra time.
"It was a never-say-die attitude," De Garis told BBC Jersey.
"I thought that we were out of it but the boys turned it around and I'm really pleased for them."
De Garis singled out substitute Jason Winch for special praise after he came off the bench to score Guernsey's first goal with 10 minutes of normal time left.
"He scored a goal and made two and I'm pleased for the lad," said De Garis.
"They knew Jersey's heads had gone a bit so they tried to keep them on the back foot and we got what we deserved in the last minute."
