The Devon FA's referee development officer says the Respect campaign is vital to the game in the county.

The FA campaign aims to encourage players to behave better towards referees and officials on the field by cutting down on verbal abuse.

"If we do lose respect then unfortunately we'll lose referees and we'll end up losing the game," Hopkins told BBC Radio Devon.

"It's a long term programme that the FA hope will change the game," he added.
