The cold weather has severely hit Tuesday's Football League programme, with eight games already postponed. Temperatures are set to drop below freezing across the north of England.
Frozen pitches have already accounted for games at Sheffield Wednesday, Carlisle, Darlington, Rochdale, Stockport, Hereford and Morecambe.
Wolves' Championship game with Scunthorpe was the latest to be postponed, after a malfunction with the undersoil heating at Molineux.
Morecambe tried to thaw out the pitch for their Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie with Grimsby by using gas heaters, but the match was called off anyway.
Rochdale's club officials and fans had also worked through the night, in vain, to try to prevent their game from falling victim to the weather.
Three other League games and one JP Trophy tie remain unaffected so far.
