Shrimps fail to save Grimsby game
Morecambe's Christie Park
Morecambe's Christie Park failed a pitch inspection on Saturday
Morecambe's match against Grimsby Town in Tuesday's Johnstone's Paint Trophy Northern Final first leg has been called off because of a frozen pitch.

The fixture has now been rescheduled to take place on Tuesday, 26 February.

Saturday's League Two match at Christie Park against Shrewsbury was also postponed.

Chief executive Rod Taylor told BBC Radio Lancashire: "90% of the pitch is fine, there's just one area where there's some doubt."

He added: "We've had what can be described as a tent over the problem areas from touchline to touchline with hot air blowers blowing over that area.

"We worked on the pitch until 1130 last night, and there was no real impact until 930 when it started changing on the ground again. The forecast was better today and I don't think there would have been an impact until half-past nine tonight."
