FA vice-chairman quits
FA chief executive Adam Crozier resigned last week
Pattison's resignation follows that of Adam Crozier
Football Association vice-chairman Frank Pattison has become the latest senior figure to resign from the organisation.

Pattison's departure follows that of chief executive Adam Crozier last Thursday.

The Durham FA president sent his letter of resignation to FA chairman Geoff Thompson on Monday.

He cited his concerns at recent developments in the running and regulation of English football's governing body.

Thompson responded to the latest resignation by telling the FA's website: "I am extremely saddened by Frank's decision to resign.

"Frank has made a wonderful contribution to the FA as a vice-chairman and chairman of our National Game Board.

"Frank's tireless work to support football at all levels, but particularly grass roots football in this country, will be sorely missed by the FA at board level and throughout the national game."

Pattison will stay on as a member of the FA Council, on which he has served as Durham representative since 1989.

The National Game Board will meet in the near future to determine Pattison's successor.
