David Speller was the 2008 JSC Sportsperson of the Year

The Jersey Sports Council has unveiled its nominations for the 2010 Sid Guy memorial award.

Netball's Ann Halliwell, Jersey motor Cycle club's Christine Wright and boxer Brian Rousseau are the three nominees.

The Colin Welsh Memorial Trophy nominations for 2010 have been also been revealed.

Motor rally organiser Nigel Johnson is up for the award, alongside Derek Denton for his work in swimming Alan Ronxin from the JSAD.

Ronxin was nominated for his longstanding involvement with the Jersey Sports Association for the Disabled.

There will also be Highland Spring Bursaries of £500 and £250 given to help the development of two young Jersey Sportspersons.

The winning Individual Jersey Sports Council Awards will be presented at the Dinner event on the 25th of March at the Hotel Ambassadeur.
