Clark will be making her fourth tour to England |
Belinda Clark has backed Australia to continue their dominance over England in the Women's Ashes series. They have not lost a one-day game to England since 1993 and it is 21 years since they were beaten in a Test.
England have home advantage this time and are looking to avenge a defeat in the World Cup semi-finals in South Africa earlier this year.
"We want to apply the same vigour and attitude we showed at the World Cup," skipper Clark commented.
"We won't be taking our foot of the pedal."
The tour is the last for batter Lisa Keightley, who is set to take up a coaching post, and there has been speculation that Clark and pace bowler Cathryn Fitzpatrick will follow her into retirement.
England will again be skippered by Clare Connor |
The selectors have looked to the future by including uncapped Sarah Edwards and Kirsten Pike.
But Clark believes they have the right balance of youth and experience.
"We are certainly looking forward to the next six weeks. We have a great rivalry with England and always relish the challenge of playing against them," she added.
They will play three one-day international in Ireland, the first of them next Friday, before arriving in England.
