| India women claim win Collyer bowled well but it was in vain The India women's cricket team beat an England women's Development XI by 53 runs at Reading Cricket and Hockey Club on Friday. The match was the first of three warm-up one-dayers for the touring side as they prepare for a two-Test series against England, starting on Thursday at Shenley. The Development XI, who won the toss and elected to field, bowled out the tourists for 128. Sarah Clarke of Surrey took three for 24 and Somerset's Sarah Collyer claimed three for 31, with Sumetra Parajpe making 37 for India. But tight India bowling saw England bowled out for just 75 in 40.1 overs, Claire Taylor top-scoring with 27. It was Parajpe who starred again, taking four for 17 in her 10-over spell. India play an MCC XI on Saturday and England U21s on Monday, both matches taking place at Reading Cricket and Hockey Club. England Development XI: Caroline Atkins, Kathryn Leng, Claire Taylor, Hannah Lloyd, Sarah Collyer, Sarah Clarke, Beth Morgan, Laura Joyce, Natalie Lane, Kelly Evenson and Stephanie Davies. |
