THIRD ONE-DAY INTERNATIONAL, Darwin: Australia 198-5 beat Bangladesh 125 by 73 runs

Australia sealed a 3-0 series whitewash over Bangladesh with a 73-run win in the final one-dayer in Darwin. The hosts were restricted to 198-5 with Mike Hussey unbeaten on 57 and opener Shaun Marsh contributing 30. Bangladesh briefly threatened an upset when they reached 82-3 on the back of Tamim Iqbal's 63 off 69 balls. But a career-best haul of 3-30 from James Hopes and 2-8 in five overs from Shane Watson ensured Australia hit back to bowl out the tourists for 125. The match was the closest of the series following Australia's 180-run win last weekend and the eight-wicket victory on Wednesday. And teenager Tamim's impressive 63 had put Bangladesh in a position to repeat the upset victory over the world champions they achieved in 2005 in Cardiff. But once Shakib Al Hasan fell for 27 in the 17th over, Bangladesh's pursuit ran out of momentum as Tamim gradually lost partners. The 19-year-old was eventually out, slicing in the air to third man after an innings containing five fours and a straight six.
