England pace bowler Matthew Hoggard has criticised the current trend of playing back-to-back Test matches. England ended the second Test against New Zealand at Leeds a week ago and the two sides were back playing again at Trent Bridge three days later.
Hoggard told BBC Sport: "I understand the reasons why they are scheduled but I think it is wrong.
"We need time to rest and recuperate so our bodies can recover fully. It is unfair on both teams."

England won the Test series 3-0 after a four-wicket win at Trent Bridge on Sunday.
But Hoggard said back-to-back Tests took their toll on players' bodies and could lead to an increase in injuries.
He added: "It was very hard work.
"We finished at Headingley on Monday and then rocked up at Trent Bridge and lost the toss on Thursday and had to bowl again. It felt as though we were playing for a sixth consecutive day.
"[Graham] Thorpe scored a magnificent century on the final day but afterwards he was shattered.
"He was mentally and physically drained in the dressing room.
"The powers that be should definitely consider an adequate break in between matches for the good of the game."
