Vaughan goes 10th
Michael Vaughan celebrates one of his tons against India
Vaughan twice made scores in the 190s
Rahul Dravid and Michael Vaughan have battled their way into the PwC ratings' World XI.

Dravid has finished the England-India series in sixth place amongst batsmen and Vaughan has nudged ahead of Marcus Trescothick to go 10th.

Statistically, they are now good enough to enter the World XI, though with Sachin Tendulkar ahead of all of the above, India end the series with the best two batsmen of the two teams.

In Trescothick and Vaughan, England can at least boast an opening pair that handsomely beats every other country's except Australia's.

Even if fit, England's seam attack could struggle in Australia, since none of Andy Caddick, Darren Gough and Matthew Hoggard come close to Glenn McGrath.

After England's win at Lord's, Hoggard reached the dizzy heights of fifth place, but he has now dropped back to 13th.

PwC WORLD XI

The current PwC World Test XI based on players at the top of the Ratings is as follows:

Hayden (Aus), Vaughan (Eng), Dravid (Ind), Tendulkar (Ind), Lara (WI), Inzamam (Pak), Gilchrist (Aus), Pollock (SA), Warne (Aus), Muralitharan (Sri), McGrath (Aus).
