England face injury crisis
Andrew Flintoff
Flintoff could miss the ICC Champions Trophy
Four England players will undergo medical checks to determine the extent of injuries picked up in the drawn second Test against India.

Key all-rounder Andrew Flintoff, Dominic Cork, Craig White and John Crawley will all visit specialists this week.

Flintoff has been troubled by a groin problem, but the most worrying case is Crawley.

The Hampshire batsman will have a scan on his left knee after a suspected cartilage tear.

If it is torn, he could be ruled out for the remainder of the season.

Cork, who injured his right knee on the opening day of the Test, but recovered to bowl on the final day, will have a scan on Thursday.

It's all just starting to catch up on us a little bit
Nasser Hussain
White has a side strain and is not expected to play for his county this week in hope of being fit for the third Test at Headingley on 22 August.

England captain Nasser Hussain, who could not consider Andrew Caddick, Darren Gough and Simon Jones for the second Test because of injury, blamed the number of matches for the rash of problems.

"We've played a lot of cricket this summer.

"Every game's gone the distance, we've played on some very flat wickets in some of the Test matches and the one-day internationals and bowlers have put in a lot of hard work.

"This is after two or three tours of the sub-continent and it's all just starting to catch up on us a little bit where bowlers have been bowled into the ground.

"That's the game at the moment and we're going to have to live with it - luckily we're getting a larger pool of players."

You can't keep playing with a niggle
Hussain on Flintoff
Hussain said Flintoff may get some time off soon to allow him to rest and it was possible he could miss the ICC Champions Trophy in Sri Lanka.

"It's getting to the point where it's slightly unprofessional what we're doing - you can't keep playing with a niggle," he said.

England are due to take part in the limited overs Champions Trophy, dubbed the 'mini World Cup', next month as part of their World Cup preparations.
