Alan Richardson is relishing his Worcestershire role

Worcestershire paceman Alan Richardson says he is relishing the job of helping to bring on the county's young bowlers.

Richardson has led the attack with 20 wickets in four Championship games this summer after joining from Middlesex.

He told BBC Hereford and Worcester: "These guys are learning all the time and to be honest I am learning a few things from them.

"Me and Mase (Matt Mason) will try and be the 'think tank' for the lads, and they can be our legs."

Richardson, who only took 11 wickets in six games for Middlesex last summer, added: "Rich (Richard Jones) has bowled superbly and Jack (Shantry) has come in and done really well.

"These guys are learning all the time and stringing some performances in as well."

Worcestershire are without a Championship game this week and Richardson, who turned 35 during the win at Leicestershire, says he will be glad of the rest from four-day cricket.

At the same time he wants to ensure he keeps his momentum going.

"My action is not he easiest so if I can keep going, in practice or in games it keeps me ticking over," he added.
