Tahir took 4-27 in Warwickshire's CB40 victory over Nottinghamshire |
Spin bowler Imran Tahir has praised the resolve of his Warwickshire team-mates after an improved run of results. The Bears have registered successive Championship victories against Essex and Kent, whilst also securing a place in the last four of the CB40 Trophy. Tahir told BBC WM: "We've all stuck together and you can see the results. "The cricket we've played in the last two weeks has shown that. We've been committed in helping each other out and trusting each other." Warwickshire had looked certainties for Championship relegation before two straight wins at Edgbaston. The Bears do not play in the four-day competition this week, while two of their rivals, Kent and Hampshire, meet at Canterbury. Warwickshire then go to Hampshire in the final week of the season, knowing a win will guarantee their Division One status. Before that they play Yorkshire at Scarborough in their CB40 semi-final on Saturday and Tahir has set his sights on playing in another Lord's final. "I did it with Hampshire [in the 2009 FP Trophy] and it's my wish to do it here," he said. "My mother passed away a few months ago and I'm quite pleased with how I've done in this county season, so I hope she'll be watching and feeling proud of me."
