Patel could feature for New Zealand against Sri Lanka in August |
Warwickshire are looking to sign a new overseas bowler after effectively losing New Zealand spinner Jeetan Patel for the rest of the season. The 29-year-old is out for six weeks due to a medial ligament tear in his knee, and is likely to be on international duty in August. Bears' director of cricket Ashley Giles told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire: "Ultimately we want someone of quality. "It would be a bowler as our batting seems in a pretty good order." Giles added: "I think our bowling could do with some help and experience. "We've got a lot of cricket coming up away from home so we can't necessarily decide what sort of wickets we play on." Patel joined the Edgbaston-based side earlier this year to fill the void left by the departure of leg spinner Ian Salisbury.
