McLeish led Birmingham to promotion from the Championship
Birmingham manager Alex McLeish has denied reports he has fallen out with Blues' board of directors over the signing of defender Giovanny Espinoza.
The former Scotland boss said claims he was upset with co-owner David Sullivan for signing the Ecuador international without his consent were untrue.
"There are absolutely no problems with the board," said McLeish.
"I'm happy with all the signings and happy with the support I've had, to suggest otherwise is ridiculous."
McLeish has already brought in six new signings this summer, including Espinoza from Sporting Club Barcelona, and insisted he is happy with the financial backing he has received.
"The board has given me great backing so far so I'm dismayed by claims suggesting I am not happy with the signing of Espinoza," he said.
"The deal made good financial sense and, although he's a rookie in English terms, he has vast international experience."
McLeish has acted quickly to play down the report and avoid any more unwanted speculation regarding his relationship with the St Andrews club's board.
Last season it was reported that he was unhappy with comments made by Blues' managing director Karren Brady in a newspaper column about his signings and the performances of the team.
