Bilic's 12 goals kept Sporting Gijon in the Primera Liga
Spanish Primera Liga side Sporting Gijon have agreed to take on Birmingham City at St Andrew's on 8 August.
It will be the only pre-season home fixture for Alex McLeish's side ahead of their return to the Premier League.
Gijon survived in Spain's top flight by the skin of their teeth on the final day of last season, 12 months after gaining promotion.
Their star player is Croatian striker Mate Bilic who kept them afloat with 12 Primera Liga goals.
It will be Blues final match before they open their Premier League campaign at Old Trafford against the champions Manchester United on the weekend of the 15/16 August.
The first home game will be the following midweek against Portsmouth.
