Bears bring in Fleming
Damien Fleming
Fleming played in 20 Tests for Australia
Warwickshire signed their second overseas player in the space of a week when Australian paceman Damien Fleming was drafted in as cover for Shaun Pollock.

New Zealand fast bowler Shane Bond was recruited by the county side earlier this week to replace Pollock for a three-week period in August.

Fleming will then deputise while Pollock leads his country in the ICC Champions Trophy event in Sri Lanka from 12-30 September.

Warwickshire's Chief Executive Dennis Amiss said: "We are delighted to have been able to attract Damien here to join Warwickshire for the final few weeks of the season.

Fleming played in two World Cup finals

"We are sure that a player of his calibre and experience will play a massive role in our push for success."

Fleming, now 32, has played 20 Tests and 88 one-dayers but has been out of favour since last summer's Ashes tour to England.

He was a member of the 1999 World Cup-winning side and of the team that lost the 1996 final to Sri Lanka.

Recently dropped by state side Victoria after a distinguished 13-year career, Fleming will play for South Australia Redbacks in the coming Australian domestic season.

In his two-week spell for the Bears, Fleming will play in two Championship fixtures, against Yorkshire and Sussex, and two Norwich Union League games.
