Luke Wells has signed a one-year extension to his contract at Sussex, and will stay at Hove until the end of the 2013 season.

The 19-year-old, who bowls right-arm off-spin, is currently playing for Western Province in South Africa.

He said: "Mark Robinson and Mark Davis have shown a lot of confidence in me so I'm keen to repay them next season.

"I'll be looking to push for a regular place in the first team as quickly as possible with runs and wickets."

Wells made his first-class debut in Sussex's final game of the season at Worcestershire, and has also appeared for the England Under-19 side this year.
