All-rounder Will Adkin has agreed a two-year contract with Sussex after coming through the club's academy.

The 20-year-old, who is six foot nine inches tall, made his first-class debut in the draw against Surrey last month.

Cricket performance manager and academy coach Keith Greenfield said: "It's nice to see another player come through the academy into the professional ranks.

"His height helps him to maintain extra bounce and if his body develops he could become a real handful."

Sussex will support Adkin through the final year of his Sports Science degree at Southampton University, before he moves onto full-time cricketing duties at the end of May 2011.
