Brighton and Hove Albion defender Tommy Elphick wants to continue the club's impressive defensive form.

The 23-year-old has been at the heart of a Seagulls defence that has kept three consecutive clean sheets in League One.

He told BBC Sussex: "I've said before that the more clean sheets we can keep will push us up the table.

"It's nice to have a reputation like that but we need to keep going because it's still early in the season."

He added: "We all know each other inside out. We just need to keep our feet on the ground.

"You can't rest on your laurels - you've got to keep working hard."

Brighton host Oldham on Saturday, following long away trips to Carlisle and Plymouth, and Elphick wants to reward the home fans.

"They were two massive trips and two massive games," he said.

"I couldn't believe how many people were there on Tuesday night [at Plymouth] and the noise they made.

"We've got to bring that form back to the Withdean."
