Sussex batsman Chris Adams is open-minded about his future after stepping down as captain.
Adams, 38, has been linked with a move into coaching, while his county are looking for a new chief executive.
He told BBC Southern Counties Radio: "I need a new challenge that takes me off the cricket field - at some stage.
"I'd like to think I'll be managing a team directly, or in terms of administration. I think I have the skills for both of those."
Adams has led Sussex to three County Championships, plus the C&G Trophy and the Pro40 title, since his arrival in 1997.
Michael Yardy will replace him as captain next season.
In summer 2006, having guided Sussex to the County Championship, Adams agreed a deal to move to Yorkshire, only to have a change of heart and stay at Hove, inspiring the team to another title.
