Scotland announce Twenty20 squad
Dougie Brown sees Australia captain Ricky Ponting dropped during the World Cup
Warwickshire veteran Brown will make the trip to South Africa
Scotland have announced their squad for next month's World Twenty20 Championships in South Africa.

There are three players from first class counties in the Warwickshire duo of Dougie Brown and Navdeep Poonia and Worcestershire's Dewald Nel.

Captain Ryan Watson said: "We have nothing to lose and we have to play with that certainty in order to spring a surprise or two."

Glenn Rogers and Kyle Coetzer were unavailable for selection.

Cricket Scotland's chief executive Roddy Smith expects the side to give a good account of themselves.

"The team showed in their very close loss to the West Indies last month that they can compete very well against full members.

"We look forward to then competing well with the Indian and Pakistan teams"

Scotland squad: Ryan Watson (Forfarshire, captain), John Blain (Rotherham); Dougie Brown, Navdeep Poonia (Warwickshire); Gordon Drummond (Watsonians); Gavin Hamilton; Majid Haq (Ferguslie); Ross Lyons, Qasim Sheikh (Clydesdale); Neil McCallum, Gregor Maiden (Grange); Dewald Nel (Worcestershire); Colin Smith (Aberdeenshire); Fraser Watts, Craig Wright (Greenock).
