Mick Newell expects Charlie Shreck to stay at Notts

Nottinghamshire director of cricket Mick Newell is confident that fast bowler Charlie Shreck will be back at Trent Bridge for next season.

Shreck, 32, is out of contract but Newell expects him to stay despite interest from Durham and Somerset.

"He hasn't actually signed," Newell told BBC Radio Nottingham. "He's got a contract but I think he's probably lost it because it's taking a bit of time!

"But there's no reason to think that he won't be here."

Newell added: "He picked up an injury at the end of last season so he's working with the physio and the fitness coach. It's been fairly slow progress over the winter."
