Nottinghamshire coach Mick Newell has criticised his counterparts who have argued against paceman Darren Pattinson's selection for England.

Glamorgan cricket manager Matt Maynard has said that Pattinson's call-up had left him "absolutely stunned."

But Newell told BBC Radio Nottingham: "It's disappointing when county coaches who haven't even seen him bowl start chipping in.

"I'm not keen on that, I think they should let him get on with it."
