Nottinghamshire's new stand at Trent Bridge will be open for England's third Test against New Zealand next week after it passed a safety inspection.

The stand will be officially opened by His Royal Highness, the Duke of Edinburgh, on Thursday 5 June.

England lead New Zealand 1-0 in the series after victory at Old Trafford.

"We are determined to continue to enhance Trent Bridge," said Derek Brewer, chief executive of Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club.

"We are absolutely delighted that the redevelopment has come to fruition.

"We look forward to welcoming England and New Zealand for the deciding game in an intriguing series."
