Wakely impressed for Northants in the domestic T20 last year

Northants suffered an eight-wicket defeat at the hands of national Twenty20 finalists Warriors on their pre-season tour in South Africa.

Alex Wakely smashed an unbeaten 42 off 23 balls as the county side totalled 154 for three in their 20 overs.

Rob White (43) and Mal Loye (37) also made useful runs in Port Elizabeth.

But the Warriors - who play Cape Cobras in the domestic T20 final on Friday - reached their target with only two wickets down and five balls to spare.

Northants have two more one-day games and a three-day match in Eastern Province before returning to England later this month.
