Northants have signed left-arm spinner Tom Brett on a one-year contract. The 20-year-old product of the county's academy has made three appearances in the Clydesdale Bank 40 this season. "This is a positive decision by the club and I'm delighted for Tom," Northants chief executive Mark Tagg told BBC Radio Northampton. "He's had some experience of first-team cricket this season and I hope that'll give him a boost and help him to kick on now." Brett has spent six years with the academy at Wantage Road and made his first-class debut against Oxford UCCE in April. He currently plays for Finedon Dolben in the Northants League's Premier Division.
