Hodge played six Tests for Australia between 2005 and 2008

Leicestershire are on the verge of announcing the re-signing of former Australia Test batsman Brad Hodge, according to BBC Radio Leicester.

Hodge would join fellow Australia Test player Andrew McDonald as the second overseas professional in next year's Twenty20 competition.

The 34-year-old picked up a Twenty20 winner's medal with the Foxes in 2004.

Meanwhile, batsmen Josh Cobb and Greg Smith and bowler Nathan Buck have all put pen to paper on three-years deals.

The new contracts will keep them at Leicestershire until the end of the 2012 season.
