Head coach Peter Moores says Lancashire are showing good fighting traits after securing a third County Championship win of the season. The Red Rose county took 23 points from their 65-run victory at Edgbaston against Warwickshire. Moores told BBC Radio Manchester: "What we're starting to show is some really good fighting traits as a team. "Hopefully that starts to turn into wins which it has done so we've got to try to keep that form going." He added: "Last season, we got out of jail a couple of times but normally when you watch a side develop the first thing you show is a tenacity to get stuck in and work and fight which this side has started to do." | He's had a fantastic game and every time we watch him bowl we think he's been unlucky not to have represented England more Lancashire head coach Peter Moores |
Moores was also fulsome in his praise for captain Glen Chapple, who finished with match figures of 9-96 as well as making 29 and 22 with the bat. "He's a great all-round cricketer especially with the pressure of captaincy," he said. "Don't underestimate his batting. Glen chips in with runs every time. "So in a game where runs are at a premium, he comes in and gets his 20, 30, 50, 70 - whatever. "He's had a fantastic game and every time we watch him bowl we think he's been unlucky not to have represented England more in the way he performs. "He's very consistent and he's started off the season as he always does. "He swings the ball but he's also got that ability to make the ball bounce from a full-ish length which is the sign of a good bowler."
