Ireland's one-day international against Canada was abandoned on Tuesday without a ball being bowled at Clontarf.

Heavy and persistent rain at the Dublin venue left the umpires with no option but to call the match off after an early afternoon inspection.

It was the second time in three days that rain had frustrated the teams.

On Sunday, the fourth day of their InterContinental Cup at Malahide was a complete wash-out and the sides were awarded three points each.
