Hampshire spinner Danny Briggs eyes England Lions place
Briggs (r) took 31 Twenty20 wickets last season
Hampshire spinner Danny Briggs says his aim is to be selected for the England Lions squad next year.
The 19-year-old, who took 34 County Championship wickets last season, is on tour with the England performance squad (EPS) in Australia this winter.
Briggs told BBC Radio Solent: "I want to break into the Lions squad and the EPS will help me do that.
"This trip [to Australia] is about showing the coaches what I can do and improving my game."
Briggs, who travelled to Australia with the England squad on Friday, has made the primary spin bowler role his own for Hampshire, helping them win the FP t20 title in August.

"I've had a great year for Hampshire and it's given me a lot of confidence," Briggs added.
"I want to carry that on through my time with England.
"It's given me a taste for the game and I want to improve and come back a much better player next year.
"I'm just excited now and can't wait to get going. It will be an intense trip with longs days and intense training.
"I just want to get more experience out of this and get used to playing in that type of environment.
"There are some solid cricketers out there and it will be good to pick their brains in training to see what they do to get them to such a high standard."
The England performance squad will remain in Perth for the lead-up to the third Ashes Test before departing for the UK on 16 December.
Briggs may be called up to the full squad during this time should spinners Graeme Swann and Monty Panesar become injured.
The England performance squad will play a four-day match against a Queensland XI from 25-28 November.
The team will then relocate to Perth on 29 November and face a Western Australia XI from 7-10 December.
